Getting Caught Up...
For those of you who have missed class during the last two weeks, here are some important documents:
- Complete Notes for the Sports Film unit
- Unit Plan Map for Sports Film unit (includes all concepts you are responsible for on the unit exam)
Also: below are the sheets that needed to be completed for the Sports Film presentation. If you do not present this upcoming week, you must complete each of the following sheets ON YOUR OWN for a sports film of your choice. See me if you have any questions.
Weekly Results - Week 14
Our assessment this week (December 6 - 10) was a five question quiz over camera angles (high, low, eye-level, bird's eye, and point of view) as well as analysis terms like archetype and montage. The average score on the test was an 88%. 84% of students demonstrated mastery of the objectives by scoring an 80% or better.
MANY students scored perfect on the quiz. A few of those students were: Alexandra (2nd), Namara (2nd), Lakeisha (2nd), Julian (4th), Ryan (4th), Cherrell (4th), Sherice (7th), Dominique (7th), and Javon (7th). Well done to EVERYONE who scored a 100%!

Weekly Results: Week 13
This week we took a test over our Crime Film Unit. The test was 20 multiple choice questions. The average score was an 83%. 69% of students got an 80% or better on the test.
These numbers are actually very good! Compare the results of our last four tests:
Average Score on Unit Test:
Thrillers (week 4): 69%
Sci-Fi (week 6): 73%
Horror (week 10): 79%
Crime (week 13): 83%
And look at this... the percent of students who are passing the test with an 80% or better:
Thrillers (week 4): 49%
Sci-Fi (week 6): 44%
Horror (week 10): 58%
Crime (week 13): 69%
We are moving in the right direction! Great improvement from the beginning of the year. Let's keep it up!
We had a lot of perfect scores this week. From 2nd period: Eboni, Ozzie, Nick, Talia, Charita, and Alisha. From 4th period: George, Feusha, and Le'Cresha. From 7th: Brandi and Ryan. Well done!
I also want to single out the students who made the biggest improvement in score from the last test over horror films to this test on crime movies. They were: Ayesha (2nd), Kenny (4th), and Patricia (7th). Keep it up!
